Clay Workshop Host & Studio Assistant
Paint-In Memories – Santurce, Puerto Rico
Paint-In Memories is a creative studio where guests disconnect from daily stress and enjoy hands-on art experiences such as ceramics, clay, canvas painting and glass fusion.
We are currently looking for a Clay Workshop Host & Studio Assistant to join our team.
This position is ideal for someone who already has experience working with clay and teaching beginner-friendly workshops and enjoys guiding guests through creative experiences.
Clay Workshop Hosting (Required)
This role includes leading beginner clay workshops for guests in the evenings.
The person in this position must:
• Have prior experience working with clay or ceramics
• Be comfortable guiding groups of beginners step-by-step
• Be able to explain simple clay techniques clearly
• Maintain a relaxed and encouraging environment for guests
Experience teaching clay or ceramics workshops is required.
Team members who create and lead workshops receive an additional 18% instructor incentive based on workshop sales.
Studio Responsibilities
Studio Operations
• Dip ceramic pieces after they dry
• Load and unload kilns safely
• Match fired pieces with their fire slips
• Notify customers when pieces are ready for pickup
Studio Maintenance
• Sweep and mop studio floors
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Assist with general studio cleaning and closing tasks
Customer Support
• Assist guests on the studio floor when needed
• Help prepare materials for activities and workshops
• Maintain a welcoming and attentive studio environment
• Cleaning up after workshops & customers
Schedule
Part-time position
• Wednesdays & Thursdays, some Saturdays & Sundays/Holidays
• Afternoon/Evening hours
• Must be available to cover shifts when other team members call out sick, are off, or on vacation
Requirements
• Experience working with clay or ceramics (required)
• Experience teaching or guiding beginner workshops (required)
• Comfortable working with groups of guests in a creative environment
• Comfortable with physical studio tasks (lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, bending)
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
• Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
Pay
$10.50 per hour
- 18% instructor incentive on workshops you create and lead
